NPP Vigilante Group Attacks Nii Otto Cofie, NDC's Social Media Activist At Abola

NPP Vigilante Group Attacks Nii Otto Cofie, NDC's Social Media Activist At Abola

On Friday, news about some young men who were arrested by the James Town Police department at the odododiodioo constituency went viral in the community, their arrest was in line with the President of Ghana's directive to ban all social gatherings and political rallies due to the Covid-19 pandemic. These young men were found to be holding a birthday party with their friends and loved ones.

It later came to the notice of some unknown source that the NPP constituency executives gave the boys the green light to hold the party and also connived with the police to arrest them. In view of this, the police were asked not to grant these boys bail even with the intervention of the MP until a directive is given by the NPP Parliamentary candidate in order to win political points.

After it was reported that a group of young men from the camp of the Odododiodioo NPP parliamentary  candidate, Nii Lantey Bannerman were circulating falsehood in the community and on social media to tarnish and practically destroy the name of the incumbent member of Parliament for Odododiodioo constituency, Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, an NDC social media activist Von Nii Otto Cofie also went live on Facebook to objurgate their false claims.

Later in the evening, two youngmen who have been identified as members of the NPP vigilante group in the constituency, They attack Von at Abola a suburb of the Ga Mashie community at about 9pm in the evening.

The assault can be counted as part of series of attacks levelled against members of the NDC in the constituency, which is obviously a threat to democracy and also a move to cause fear and panic towards the 2020 elections.

NPP EXPOSED ON THEIR ATTEMPT TO DESTROY HON. NII LANTEY VANDERPUYE

NPP EXPOSED ON THEIR ATTEMPT TO DESTROY HON. NII LANTEY VANDERPUYE

The NPP in Odododiodioo has devised a strategy to tarnish the image of Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye and also deter the youth in the constituency from rallying behind the MP.

It has come to our notice that the NPP constituency executives offer people the green light to hold their parties and other social gatherings which we all know is against the directive of the President's ban on social gathering.

In the middle of organising such gatherings, they prompt the police to make an arrest and later connive with the police not to grant these perpetrators bail even with the intervention of the MP. This move is to maculate the image of Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye as being incompetent and spineless to assist his constituents.

That being said, we want to inform all percipient followers of the MP to ignore their needless and cheap politicking  as we all join hands to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
